Acta Microbiologica Sinica（AMS） is a peer-reviewed monthly (one volume per year) international journal, founded in 1953, sponsored by the Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Society for Microbiology. It covers a wide range of topics in the areas of general and applied microbiology. The journal publishes original papers, reviews in microbiological science, and short communications describing unusual observations.
Aims and Scope
AMS primarily focuses on original academic research. It reflects the latest scientific achievements in China's microbiology research field, reports on the newest international research trends, promotes academic exchanges, and serves the country's economic and cultural development.
Fields of Publication
The scope of the journal includes classification and evolution, genetics and molecular biology, infection and immunology, virology, enzyme and protein, ecology and environment, physiology and metabolism, industrial, agricultural, medical and veterinary microbiology, microbial technology and methods, etc.

Columns of AMS include Research Reports, Data Papers, Techniques and Methods, Reviews, and Special Topics, etc.
