Acta Microbiologica Sinica is a peer-reviewed monthly (one volume per year) international journal, founded in 1953, sponsored jointly by the Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Society for Microbiology. It covers a wide range of topics in the areas of general and applied microbiology. The journal publishes original papers, reviews in microbiological science, and short communications describing unusual observations.

Acta Microbiologica Sinica has been indexed in Index Copernicus (IC), Chemical Abstract (CA), Excerpt Medica Database (EMBASE), AJ of Viniti (Russia), Biological Abstracts (BA), Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD), China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China (ISTIC), Chinese Journal Citation Report (CJCR), Chinese Biological Abstracts, Chinese Pharmaceutical Abstracts, Chinese Medical Abstracts and Chinese Science Abstracts.

Aims and Scope

The principal aim of this journal is to promote the application of microbiology to problems from general microbiology and the applied sciences. 

The scope of the journal includes classification and evolution, genetics and molecular biology, infection and immunology, virology, enzyme and protein, ecology and environment, physiology and metabolism, industrial, agricultural, medical and veterinary microbiology, microbial technology and methods.

Author Fees

Acta Microbiologica Sinica charges nominal publication fee to offset expenses associated with the overall journal operations, publishing and printing, mailing and shipping, website maintenance, etc. There are no submission charges. Each accepted paper will be charged from 3000 to 6000 RMB for publishing, and extra 1000 RMB for color charges. Payment instructions of publication fee will be notified by the editorial assistant following the acceptance of the paper. The fees to be paid are indicated below. Authors are recommended to use Wire Transfer.

Authors are asked to agree to publish their work under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution license (PDF of the agreement).
