    Abstract:

Nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain (NOD)-like receptor family pyrin domain containing 6(NLRP6) is a member of the NOD-like receptor (NLR) family. It participates in inflammasome assembly to mediate the maturation and secretion of the pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-1β and IL-18.In addition,it plays an important role in host innate immune response to pathogen, maintaining intestinal epithelial integrity, and regulating metabolic diseases and neuroinflammation. In this paper,we reviewed the activation and regulation mechanism of NLRP6 inflammasome,as well as the role of NLRP6 in infectious and non-infectious diseases.
